The Sarface poster is immediately recognisable as a film poster because the actor names are on the right side of the poster and on the left it says a summary of the movie. The Title of the post "AL PACINO SCARFACE" is big and the first 2 words are in Spanish. The Title is in bright yellow and red which stands out the post because most of it is just black and white. 

Industries

Scarface was made by Universal Pictures and Martin Bregman Productions. It was directed by Brian De Palma and stars Al Pacino as Tony Montana. The companies made money from cinema tickets, home releases and streaming.

Audience

The target audience is mainly older teenagers and adults who enjoy crime, action and gangster films. We can tell because the film contains violence, drugs and crime.

Representation

Tony Montana is represented as a powerful and dangerous gangster. His suit and gun suggest wealth, power and violence. The poster also shows him as an immigrant trying to achieve the “American Dream” through crime.

Connotation of an Advert

The advert shows a factory worker  wearing blue overalls, working on a machine with a cup of tea  nearby. The slogan “tea revives you”  suggests that tea gives you energy when you are tired. The bright colours , especially blue, red and yellow, make the advert eye-catching . The worker’s posture suggests he has been working hard, making the tea seem refreshing and comforting.
